Description: The two-day event is being held at our innovative adult community education centre in Middleton-by-Wirksworth.
The free event will include a Derbyshire Wool Weekend to celebrate the many uses of wool.
It will feature demonstrations of crafts, sustainable living skills, a craft stall market and displays of textile crafts created by local school children.
There will also be an appearance from Derbyshire's award-winning women's chorus DaleDiva, the BMW brass band and local musicians.
On show there will be contemporary and traditional sheep and wool products and unusual textiles, such as a dress made from nettle fibres by a graduate at De Montfort University in Leicester.
There are excellent opportunities for local businesses to sponsor this event which also aims to publicise courses held at the eco centre which promotes sustainability and celebrates local heritage.
Derbyshire craftspeople who can show that they work sustainably are invited to apply for stall spaces.
The Derbyshire Eco Centre opened in September 2010 and aims to protect Derbyshire's rural heritage by offering courses to help keep traditional skills alive and teach people to live sustainably.
It is the first Derbyshire building to receive an excellent rating under the benchmark Building Research Establishment Environment Assessment Measure (BREEAM).
The centre has a grass roof, rainwater harvesting to supply toilets, solar panels to heat water and under-floor heating driven by an air source heat pump.
