Big hearted charity worker Angie Ferrugia, started posting pictures of scarves on Facebook and she tells how it went from there.

'I started posting on Facebook and everybody liked them and wanted them. And I thought, I could make these and sell them and make more and give them to the kids.' The kids in question are undergoing cancer treatment at local hospitals and now they have crocheted scarves, beanies and headbands, blankets, to make them feel more comfortable while they stay in hospital.

She has been a dedicated volunteer throughout her life multiple causes, such as Leukaemia And Lymphoma Society and Autism Speaks and was inspired to start her own central Florida nonprofit organisation after a visit from her mother, who lives in California.

'My mom brought all this knitting stuff to show us how to knit. My first scarf was a complete catastrophe and so I took a picture of it and took it apart because it was a lot of yarn and I wanted to use it again,' she laughs.

From catastrophe to a good cause her business soon blossomed out of the simple Facebook album. In less than a year she has donated several thousand pieces to children undergoing treatment in hospitals.
