Felting Projects
There are so many felting projects we'll try to list a few. Once you have made your home-made felt, or simply bought some from the shops, why not have a go at making coasters, or Christmas decorations? It's so easy to cut and shape - you can draw on your outline and use a pre bought paper pattern and an inexpensive, unique bauble is made. Use your imagination - you crafters have plenty in abundance!
There are felting projects which mean you can make balls for your pets. Cut out patterns to make a felt mouse toys for example, sewing together and making its own tail and eyes. It's a great project to fill with catnip to tease your feline, or fill it with beans for a beanbag instead.
Hang from an Easter tree, and roll your felt into balls. Simply wrap layers of wool strips together, like you were winding a ball of string. Use hot soapy water, roll and work the wool into a ball with your hands. Another method is to tie your ball of wool into the toe of an old nylon stocking and let the washing machine do it all for you!
Cut out your shape to sew onto a plain cushion, a love heart or an animal maybe? The felt is so easy to stitch on, but place all your decorations and embellishments on first. It doesn't matter what the back looks like, so don't worry if your sewing isn't great - it will get covered up in no time and the back will not be seen.
Jewellery and handbag felting projects are always great fun, transform your accessories with a piece of matted wool - you'll be the envy of your friends!
