About Kangaroo

 

Kangaroo is 28 years old this year and I can't quite believe how it has grown and evolved in that time. The business is based in East Sussex just outside the lovely old County Town of Lewes in a large unit with a studio over the stock room where we hold knitting and crochet workshops tutored by Rowan Design Consultants. We also hold regular Open Days where customers are able to use the facilities to sit and browse through pattern books and have the full touchy feely experience with the yarns.

I live in the South West of France and manage the admin side of the business from there, keeping the website up-dated, answering emails and, when I get the chance, designing new projects for the KnitKits range, whilst Harriet and Amanda handle all the shipping and man the telephone in Sussex.

I started the business in 1981 selling my own designer handknits for children and since then the company has expanded and diversified to become the exciting online yarn store that you see today. We aim to encourage and promote the craft of knitting and will always answer yarn and pattern queries by email or telephone.
