Scottish Traditional Boat Festival 2009
Wool and Yarn have just returned from the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival

Wow the weather was fantastic they really could not have picked a better week to hold the event check out www.stbf.bizland.com for some great pictures of this year and past year's events.

The array of boats in the Harbours was a sight to see, the myriad of events had something for both young and old, from dancing to singing to demonstrations of all kinds including knitting with 4ft needles, and our favourite the powerboat trip; if you are every in and around Banff and want an exciting trip on a power boat visit www.north58.co.uk Ian and Claire will look after you.

It was brilliant to see a Knitting/Craft section within the event for the first time this year; they had Hazel Tindall the fastest knitter in the World! Gansey Jumpers that are 80years old and are so expertly knitted the look like that have been knitted on a machine, Artisan Threads and Twisted Fibre Craft Studio to name a few.

Wool and Yarn enjoyed some traditional Scottish food including Cullen Skink, Arbroath Smokies, Haggis all a must if you are ever in Scotland.

Portsoy boast its own Ice Cream and I have to say we recommend a visit if you are ever in the vicinity they have so many flavours is a tough choice.
