Description
We have been spinning wool in small quantities since 1991, but
following the move from Lampeter in Wales to our new home in Cornwall
in 2005, we have started a minor revolution in the industry by doing
almost everything in small quantities.
In 2007 we introduced worsted spinning, and in the summer of 2008
added an on-line shop and a dye plant orders for which are now being
worked on.
The company's reputation has been built by adding value to fleeces
supplied by farmers and turning it into high-quality yarn. But we are
now also buying wool from them which we are using in our own
specially-developed, branded range of products.
Blankets, throws, cushions and scarves are already in the shop. In
2009 we will add fashion items and have already produced a range of
furnishing fabrics.
Our minor revolution was kick started by managing director Sue
Blacker who with her family bought the company from its previous owners
in 2005. Since then we have been helped by European Union Objective 1
funding and more recently by outside investors and the fund managers
Finance Cornwall. |
