Shop Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Sunday Closed Easter Sunday and Christmas Day
Tudor Rose Patchwork has
been in business for nearly ten years. It recently changed hands when Sandra
and David took it over from the previous owners, Helen and Jane. Both Helen and
Jane still work at the shop, Helen as a patchwork and quilting tutor, and Jane
in sales.
Since they took over the
shop, Sandra and David have recognised the demand for more and better yarns from
their customers, and have increased the quantity and selection of yarns quite
markedly over the past four or five months. They also stock a wide range of
knitting accessories – pins, row counters, bags and patterns. They stock such
well-known yarns as Rowan, Patons, DY, Sirdar … in fact, most of the brands.
If they don’t have what you want – well, they’ll get it for you! Many of the
knitting products are for sale on their new website, and more will be available
there as time goes on (and David finds the time to put them on the site!).
There is currently a
monthly knitting club on Thursday afternoons, run by Heather who is a
self-confessed knitaholic and who assists in the shop one day a week. She will
also be holding an evening knitting club soon. See the website for details.
Heather can help you select the right yarn and pins and the right everything
else to make your knitting project run smoothly. Phone the shop for
details.
As well as knitting
products, Tudor Rose Patchwork stocks an amazing selection of everything to do
with patchwork, quilting, embroidery, tapestry, goldwork, stumpwork,
cushion-making, bag-making, beadwork, sewing, candlewicking, mountmellick Irish
embroidery … and they also run courses in how to do all of these crafts, too.
They also have a wide range of haberdashery, kits (have a look at the ones
they’ve designed themselves!), stencils, work lights … you name it. They
also stock Janome sewing machines and accessories and will soon also have Pfaff
machines and accessories. |
