Knitting Needle Sizes/Conversion Chart
This is our simple easy to understand conversion chart for needle sizes you will see that this is laid out in UK (Old) this is the old sizes for needle in Imperial you can no longer buy these new but there are still masses in circulation passed down from generation to generation or picked up in charity shops or on the internet most new patterns will usually give you both needle sizes but if the patters is old then you will find our handy chart very useful. Metric was introduced in the 1970’s but not brought in under legislation until Jan 2000 showing on the list as MM/Metric these are the needle sizes you can buy in shops today, and then we have US, as patterns are available on the internet you will find some of the needle sizes are shown in US sizes and a lot of books are published in the US using US needle sizes we have a list to show you what size needles that would be used in the UK (Old) or New (MM) so you can convert easily
